Artist Statement
“I see great importance in light and color, but even greater importance in shadow and darkness. Life is full of turmoil and I think embracing it is beautiful. Emotion is the definition of being human, whether it’s good or bad. Look at the shape of the world around you. I have such a wide variety of photographs, because I think you can truly find beauty in nearly anything on this planet. Life is beauty and pain, art and despair. I love all genres of music, many styles of photography, and a variety of art; but the ones that capture my heart are those that express a wide range of emotion, and acknowledge the negative.
No photo should be all black, all white, nor all one color, for life is not as such. In even my darkest pieces, there is light, and in my most colorful pieces, there is darkness. I want it to be a reflection of life itself. Finding inspiration in darkness and sorrow is something I continually strive for.”
